The aim of this week-long event is to raise awareness of issues relating to back pain and its prevention and treatment.
We are looking forward to a week full of activity and we are always looking forward to helping people get better at caring for their backs.
Our chiropractic treatment programme is just as much about education and prevention of back pain as it is about helping people in pain.
During this week at the ISIS Chiropractic Centres we are offering you a half price consultation.

This year the theme is ‘Caring for Carers’. Carers provide invaluable help and assistance to their children, friends, relatives and partners but their work can easily lead to back pain compromising their ability to care. What happens then?
A 2011 survey found that 70% of carers experienced back and shoulder pain. These complaints seriously affect the quality of life of those who should be the most valued in our society. Their voluntary work saves the NHS and local authorities significant sums of money so back pain in our carers is not only affecting them as individuals but the economy and the health service also.
Back pain currently accounts for half of all chronic pain and is the second leading cause of sick absence from work after the common cold. According to BackCare around 30million adults in the UK will suffer with back pain this year and 6million of them will be off work for more than 3 months or more as a result.
Similarly to many health problems like diabetes, heart disease, when dealing with back pain prevention is key. In most cases when a patient feels they have developed back pain for ‘no reason’ and without injury it becomes apparent that their lifestyle and postural habits have played a big part in the development of their problem.
By identifying these habits and making the appropriate changes to lifestyle we can have a significant effect on reducing the likelihood of developing the problem.
Chiropractors are focused not only on the treatment of back problems once they have arisen, but on educating the public about back pain and prevention so BackCare Awareness Week is very important to us.
If you are experiencing any aches and pains or feel your lifestyle may be putting you at risk of developing back pain, make an appointment for treatment and advice with a Chiropractor at one of our ISIS clinics this BackCare Awareness Week!
